Hey everybody! It's been 6 months since my last journal! Neat eh?
I just got back -well not just got back, I got back on Tuesday- from the tropical land of Calgary, Alberta and there was barely any snow!
During this fantastic stay I got to see the Matt Good acoustic show! I had to go by myself because I'm incompetent and didn't get a ticket before it sold out. So the greatest person on earth -Dan- gave me his ticket. And the show was friggin' awesome! Except for the very very very very very annoying girl who sat behind me and talked all the way through. Well, not all the way through. She'd stop talking every 30 seconds to yell "Wooooooooooooooooo!" So she was a bit of a downer but Matt played most of the songs I was hoping for and it was so very very wonderful and I almost cried many many times because that seems to be what happens...
Then! On Friday Dan and I went to the zoo! AND THERE WERE HIPPOS! HIPPOS!! And there was a baby one and they were splashing around in their tank and I could get right up beside them and it was so wonderful! I almost started crying there too.. I think that happens when I get to excited... But yeah, we were at the hippo tank for a little while then went to explore the rest of the zoo. Sadly the red Panda wasn't out because of construction and its a little skittish. And we went to the butterfly cage and both got freaked out because neither of us are over our moth fear. And butterflies are close enough, dammit. And the hawk and owl cages are neat because get to walk through them. Kinda morbid tho, because there's a bunch of dead chick and mouse carcasses laid out. After doing the rest of the zoo we went back to the hippos because... they're hippos. So spent the last half hour there and that's my trip to the zoo.
Other than that we had a Nicolas Cage-a-thon with Matchstick Men, The Weatherman and Lord of War. I would recommend every one of them. There were a bunch of MSTs watched as well.. Awesome trip all around.
And now I'm back here working at the prestigious Subway. The one with Roidboy. Oh Roidboy. A random tidbit about him: it once took him 3 hours to core and slice 6 tomatoes. actually that's his average. He's awesome...
I got a call from Stu from The Animation Brewery where I used to work. He called me in to work on a webpage. Before this I had no clue how to make a flash webpage but now I want to redo mine. It's amazing what you can learn if you spend 6 hours trying to fix and then finish something...
And that's it... yeah... This is kinda long. Sorry.
